A nutrition coach from Parker, CO Abby is built to run. For Abby, the sport of running has been the key motivational tool for how she views life. With her husband, Dan, by her side she pushes herself to the limits with several ultra running goals. This will be Abby's first attempt at the Leadville Trail 100, and with her strong desire to finish, nothing should stop her.
Emily, a 37 year old fitness instructor from Westminster CO, Emily adds a spunky and energetic breath of life into the ultra world. With Leadville as her first entry into a 100 mile ultra marathon, Emily is determined to set the bar high with a sub-25 hr finish.
Tim, is a 29-year old adventure-addict and outdoor enthusiast who runs Ultra Marathons despite not being a big fan of running. He sees trail races as a way to enjoy more nature exploration in less time, with the added benefit of an extreme challenge. This will be Tim’s second attempt to finish the Leadville Trail 100. He ran in 2010 but was pulled from the race at mile 85 due to medical reasons. With the memory of last year’s event still fresh in his mind, Tim seeks a fresh start and a first finish in Leadville.
David, a once 320 lb alcoholic, found a new lease on life through running. A devoted father of 3, David is proactive around his community to reach out and inspire many of those looking to restart their lives. David recently finished a 24hr treadmill run for Partnership for a Drug Free America to help raise awareness for sobriety . He has now been sober for 6 years. David also seeks to capture his second consecutive finish at Leadville this year. Leadville 2010 was David’s first ever finish of this race at a time of 28 hours and 21 minutes.
